Shawnees live in the Midwest. They live in Wigwams, not tepees.
Women planted and harvested squash and corn. Men hunted for deer, turkeys,and went fishing. They also ate soup, cornbread, and stews.
Women Indians wore skirts with leggings. Men Indians wore breech clouts with leggings. Shirts were not necessary! For shoes they wore moccasins. They also wore beaded headbands with one or two feathers.
For weapons, Shawnee hunters used bows, arrows, stone tomahawks, and spears.
To get around, Shawnee Indians made dugout canoes by hollowing out large trees. They also used dogs as pack animals.
Shawnee men were hunters and sometimes went to war to protect their families. Women were farmers and also did childcare and cooking. Both genders took part in storytelling, artwork, music, and traditional medicine.

Shawnee children had dolls and played with toys.They are also known for their bead work, pottery, and wood carving. They also crafted wampum.
Some Shawnee famous chiefs are Big Jim, Black Bob, Blue Jacket, Black Hoof, and Paxinos.
Some interesting facts are they speak "Shawnee language", they live on "trust lands", and the got their clothes from white settlers.
